Obituary of Roselie Szmauz

Roselie Marie (Valenza) Szmauz, 77, of Hamilton entered into God's loving care Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Capital Health System surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trenton, she was a graduate of Cathedral High School and a life-long area resident. Roselie was employed by McGraw Hill in Hightstown for twenty three years until her retirement. Roselie was a former member of the Hamilton chapter of Deborah Hospital and volunteered at the Hamilton library. She was also an active member of the Hamilton YMCA. Roselie enjoyed family vacations in Wildwood, but most of all she loved laughing with her friends and spending time with her family. Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Anna (Pinelli) Valenza, she is survived by her loving husband of fifty five years, Gene Szmauz; two sons Jay Szmauz and wife Sandy, and John Szmauz and wife Colleen; two daughters, Lori Adjami and husband Ron, and Paula Cardo and husband Pete; two brothers, Jim Valenza and wife Gail, and Chuck Valenza and wife Michelle; ten grandchildren, Michael and wife Keleigh, Shonna, Johnny, David, Nick, Rachel, Ben, Dylan, Joshua and Amy; one great granddaughter, Lily; a sister-in-law, Isabella Huppenthal and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 9 am at D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, (located inside the Brenna-Cellini facility) 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619 A mass of Christian burial will be held 10 am Saturday, January 30 at Our Lady Of Sorrows Church, 3816 E. State Street Ext., Hamilton. Entombment will follow in St Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call Friday, January 29 from 5 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Roselie's name may be made to the charity of your choice.
