Obituary of Ida Russo

Ida Russo, 96, of Hamilton, entered into God's loving care on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 a week before her 97th birthday at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area Trenton/Hamilton area resident.

Mrs. Russo was an excellent homemaker, and worked part time as a lunch aide at Franklin Elementary School in Trenton. She enjoyed doing word puzzles, needlepoint and spending time with her loving family. Ida was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a special friend to everyone.

She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim's Church and a member of St Joachim's Senior Citizens club and a member of the Roman Society.

Predeceased by her parents, Giovanni and Ersilia (Bruschi) Amadio, her loving husband of forty two years, Louis Russo, her twin sister, Isabella Bozarth, her sister Dolores Rosetti, her brother, John Amadio and her son, Anthony Russo, she is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Janice & Carmen DeFelice of Hamilton, with whom she resided and Susan & Remo DiPaolo; five cherished grandchildren, Melissa DeFelice and husband Rob Schulte, Matthew DeFelice and wife Serena, Christopher DeFelice and wife Lauren, Katrina DiPaolo and Joseph DiPaolo; six cherished great grandchildren, James (JT), Grace, Faith, and Eve DeFelice and Amelia and Jackson Schulte; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family wishes to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for their excellent care.

Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:00 am on Saturday, October 14 at Our Lady of The Angels-St. Joachim's Church, 20-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ.

Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, 1800 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08619

Calling hours will be Friday, October 13 from 5 to 8 pm at D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, LLC, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619 located in the Brenna Cellini facility.
