Obituary of Anna Mae Kane

Please share a memory of Anna Mae to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anna Mae Kane, 76, of Yardville, NJ, passed away in the afternoon of February 18th, 2018, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, NJ.  She was retired from the State of New Jersey, Human Services Division, after 25 years of service.

At the time of her death, Anna Mae was living at the Mercerville Center, where her son, John Kane Jr., and his wife, Carolyn, checked in on her often to ensure she had everything she needed.  She was often found chatting with the other ladies at the center, playing a rousing round of Bingo, or having a nice meal prepared by the chefs.  Her only granddaughter, Jessi Prizinsky, visited her from Ohio, where she resides, with her husband, Matthew, and Anna Mae’s great grandchildren, Leah Renee and Elliott John.  She endearingly went by “MomMom” by her granddaughter and great grandchildren.

Anna Mae was a social butterfly and that was evidenced in all her activities and leadership roles throughout her life.  She was the Former President of the Hamilton Elks Ladies Auxiliary; Former President of the St. Raphael Altar Rosary Society.  Anna Mae was also involved in many senior organizations throughout the area, taking many trips with her friends to see the lighthouses down the shore, Atlantic City, and other bus trips to keep her plenty busy.

She also enjoyed pictures of her family and loved to show them off to anyone that was around.  Her room at Mercerville Center was adorned by these pictures, as was her apartment in Sunnybrae.  Her love of family pictures was evidenced in her “MomMom’s Brag Book”, which was always a hit with the other grandmas in town.

Anna Mae was married to John Kane Sr. for 32 years, by whom she was predeceased.  Anna Mae and John spent a lot of their free time together at the Hamilton Elks.  They also took many bus trips to Atlantic City, where they enjoyed everything from the ocean waves, to the great gambling experiences, to the numerous dining options.

Anna Mae’s husband, John Kane Sr.; her mother and father, Joe and Mary Piotrowski, preceded her in death.

The funeral will be held 2 pm Friday February 23, 2018 from D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619 (located inside the Brenna Cellini facility) Clergy from the area will officiate.
