Gioacchina “Gina” (Faraci) Mondello, 91, of Hamilton, entered into God’s care Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Arcadia Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hamilton, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Partinico, Italy, Mrs. Mondello along with her family, immigrated to the United States in 1970, settling in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, prior to moving to Hamilton.
Gina, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was formerly employed as a housekeeper for St. Francis Hospital, School of Nursing for thirty-three years, prior to her retirement.
She was a talented seamstress and an excellent homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Biagio and Giuseppa (Diletto) Faraci, two sisters, Antonia and Elena Faraci, her husband of 58 years, Andrea Mondello and her son-in-law, Joseph Vannozzi, Sr., she is survived by her children, Antonia Tradigo, Dino Mondello, Josephine “Josie” Vannozzi and Sandro Mondello; eight grandchildren, Michael Tradigo and wife Jessica, Michelle Campbell and husband Eric, Deborah Tradigo, Kelly Vannozzi, Samuel Vannozzi and wife Lisa, Joseph Vannozzi, Jr. and wife Lindsey, Nicholas Mondello and Jessica Mondello; seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Elijah, Drew, Alana, Jaxson and Joseph III; two sisters-in-law, Solage Mondello and Santina Perito; also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be held 8:30 am on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, located in the Brenna Cellini facility.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Saturday, April 27, at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610
Calling hours will be Friday, April 26 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
