Richard L. Docie, 92, of Trenton, entered into God’s care Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, Richard was a lifelong area resident.
He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, and was formerly employed with C.V Hill Refrigeration in Trenton prior to his retirement.
Dick as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was a devout catholic and a longtime member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish where he served as an usher at Immaculate Conception and St. Joachim’s Church. He was also a member of North Trenton American Legions, Post 458. After his retirement, Dick enjoyed spending time and going to lunch with his close friends.
Predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Katherine (Angebrandt), his siblings, and his longtime companion, Joan Weyers, he is survived by his nephew, Stephen Docie of Florida and his longtime friends and caregivers, the Costa Family.
A Rite of Reception will be celebrated 9:15 am Wednesday July 31, 2019 at Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim’s Church, 20-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ 08610 followed by calling hours until 10:15 am. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Wednesday, July 31, at St. Joachim’s Church.
Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s memory to Our Lady of the Angels Parish, 21-23 Bayard Street, Trenton, NJ 08611.
