Joseph C. Angelillo, 80, of Hamilton and St. Petersburg, Florida, entered in God’s care Friday, February 25, 2022 in Hamilton with his loving family by his side. Born in Allentown, NJ, raised in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, prior to moving to Hamilton, where he resided most of his life and more recently spending the winter months in St. Petersburg, Florida. Joe, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was formerly employed with the State of New Jersey, Department of Community Affairs as a Construction Code Inspector. He was also self-employed and the proprietor of Trenton Tire Town. He was a former active parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Parish/St. Joachim’s Church, where he served as an usher and a member of its Holy Name Society. He is presently a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Hamilton, a former member of the Italian American Sportsmen’s Club, Baron AA and the Hamilton Elks. Joe was an excellent cook, he loved catering the annual Baron AA Dinners, cooking for his family and friends, even for his doctors. He was an avid Yankee fan, he enjoyed living the winter months in Florida and spending time at the beach, however his greatest enjoyment was watching his grandsons play sports. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a great friend. He will always be remembered for his pleasant personality and warm smile. The family wishes to thank all Joe’s doctors, nurses and caregivers for their excellent care given to him during his recent illness. May God continue to Bless each of you. Predeceased by his parents, James and Lucille (Negra) Angelillo, his brother-in-law, Vincent Benedetti, and his nephew, Vincent Benedetti, II, he is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rose Ann (Benedetti) Angelillo; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and James Scaringelli; his son and daughter-in-law, James and Danielle Angelillo; his cherished grandsons, Anthony Scaringelli and fiancée, Kristen Huber, Michael Scaringelli, Brandin Angelillo and Brett Angelillo; one sister and brother-in-law, Agnes and Michael Stefanelli; one brother, Michael Angelillo; his brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, Anthony and Anne Benedetti and Connie Benedetti; his nieces and nephews, Gino Benedetti and wife Teresa, Stacey Benedetti, Toni Nicole Benedetti and husband Bharat, Michael Stefanelli and wife Erica and Michelle Stefanelli; Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 1, 2022 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim’s Church, 22-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ 08611, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
