Obituary of Christopher Castner

Christopher C. Castner, 64, of Hamilton, entered into God's Loving Care Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, he was raised in Bordentown prior to moving to Hamilton where he resided for the past thirty years. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Elementary School, Bordentown Regional High School, he attended Mercer County Community College and was a graduate of Trenton State College in 1976 prior to receiving his Master's Degree in Business Management from Kettering University in 2000. Chris as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was employed by General Motors Corporation for over thirty years before his retirement. He then went on to be a middle school Industrial Arts Teacher for West Windsor-Plainsboro School District for the past seven years. Chris was co-founder of the Ancient order of Hibernians Rugby Football club where he enjoyed playing, coaching and refereeing. He also loved playing cards, especially poker but mostly he loved spending time with his family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, James and Grace (Roller) Castner, he is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Diane (Marino) Castner; four sons, Christopher Castner and wife Jill, Kevin Castner and Wife Marissa, Brian Castner and wife Laura and Steven Elmer; one daughter, Valerie Neeld and husband Kyle; eight grandchildren, Kevin, Lia, Colin, Caitlin, Olivia, Tyler, Ben and Max; two brothers, James Castner and wife Ann, Peter Castner and wife Diana; one sister, Nancy Harper & husband James; a mother-in law, Linda Marino; two sisters-in-law, Delores Roslon and Gail Marchetti and husband Bob. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held 8 am Tuesday October 4 from D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619 (609) 587-9050 A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 9:30 am at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
