Obituary of Carol Matuska

Carol Matuska, 70, of Hamilton, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at home in Hamilton. Born in Trenton, she was a life-long area resident. Carol graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1964 She was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection for thirty- eight years until her retirement. In her younger years, she traveled to many different countries and her favorites were Italy and Spain. Carol loved buying and collecting antiques and was always looking for a treasure. This was a hobby that she loved and continued for years. She truly loved being retired and taking trips to Florida and Atlantic City, her Tuesday night card games at the clubhouse, birthday dinners with her many friends, family and community, as well as attending the annual Chambersburg Christmas party. Carol enjoyed spending time in Spring Lake with her Aunt Evie and her dog, Marty. Carol will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Although Carol never had children, she adored her friend's children and loved spending time with them. Carol will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, keen sense of humor and love for all things that sparkle. Predeceased by her parents Paul and Margaret (Bodnar) Matuska, she is survived by her aunt, Evelyn Bodnar Dimun, special cousins, Judy Bodnar, Mariann Sczerenet, Bill Bodnar, Joseph Bodnar, Al Revy and Joe Bednarski; special friends Janice Steward and her husband Ronnie. Carol is also survived by many other cousins and dear friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 am on Friday, January 13 at Our Lady Of The Angels- Immaculate Conception Church, 540 Chestnut Avenue, Trenton, Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes, Hamilton.
