Obituary of Rose Avolio

Rose V. Avolio (nee Volpe), 92, entered into God's loving care on Friday, February 21, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, PA surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, she resided in Ewing Township prior to moving to Newtown, PA where she lived for the past 25 years. After graduating from Rider University, Rose worked as a secretary at General Motors in Trenton and later with the College of New Jersey, Office of Business Services until her retirement in 1995. She liked to golf and exercise, especially jazzercise. Rose enjoyed cooking, Atlantic City trips, was a member of two Card Clubs, and enjoyed watching football and baseball. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Predeceased by her loving husband of 27 years, Pat R. Avolio, and her parents, Ralph and Emily Volpe, she is survived by her children, Robert Avolio and wife Donna of Richboro, PA; Anita Pinkas and husband Stephen of Ivyland, PA; four grandchildren, Rachel, Alexander and Jonathan Avolio and Corey Pinkas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews with whom she was close. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 pm at D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, 626 S. Olden Avenue, Hamilton, NJ. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
