Obituary of Irene Dorothy Kelly

Irene Dorothy (Farina) Kelly, 88, of Yardville, entered into God’s care Friday, December 29, 2017 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Morrisville, PA, she was a life-long area resident.

Mrs. Kelly was formerly employed with the State of NJ Public Employment Relations Commission prior to her retirement.

She was an active member of the Mercer County Chapter of Widows and Widowers, enjoyed reading, watching westerns on TV, spending time at the Jersey shore, especially LBI and Seaside, trips to Atlantic City and dancing with her beloved friend, Ted. Most of all she cherished the moments spent with her loving family. Irene will be fondly remembered for her humor and forever respected for her direct and honest character and her love of family.

Predeceased by her parents, Dominic John and Sara Farina, her late husbands, Edwin Walkowski, Jr. and John J. Kelly, her son Jay Kelly and her granddaughter Nicole Trainor, she is survived by two daughters, Nancy Mauss and Sally D’Errico and husband Frank; one son Mickey Kelly and wife Libby; Seven cherished grandchildren, Michael and wife Shannon, Victoria and husband Brian, Frank and wife Caitlin, Dominic, Christopher, Lauren and Jack; ten adored great-grandchildren, Anthony, Carina, Ryan, Joseph, Daniel, Andrew, Gia, Amanda, Alex and Austin ; also survived by her great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held 10:30 am Thursday, January 4, 2017 from the D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel. LLC, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, (located in the Brenna Cellini Facility)

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday, January 4, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 E. State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane. Hamilton, NJ 08610.

Calling hours will be held Thursday January 4, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
