Obituary of Lucy T Pugliese
Lucy T. Pugliese, 82, of Bordentown, NJ, passed away in the morning of February 5th, 2018, alongside her daughter, Carolyn Kane, and her son-in-law, John Kane.
Lucy spent the last year and a half under their love and care in their home in Hamilton, NJ, and was visited there often by her granddaughter, Jessi Prizinsky, and her great grandchildren, Leah Renee, and Elliott John, the apples of her eye.
In the home, she was also guarded and protected by her furry pal, Gabby, who spent many evenings curled up underneath her bed.
Lucy loved being GiGi to her great grandchildren and without fail, was always the one who could get the baby to smile and giggle with just a glance. She enjoyed coloring and playing putty with the oldest, who was sure to keep her on her toes.
Tony and Lucy were married for 49 years. They loved to gamble together, and take trips to Vegas, seeing the sites on the drive, until they eventually moved there. Her family always loved to hear her stories of her time there and how Vegas changed over the years. Though she was not able to travel that far, she was able to make several trips to Atlantic City and Parx Casino with family throughout the last years of her life. Lucy even made sure to map out the nearest Keno machine, as she began to plan her move to Columbus, OH, to be closer to her great grandchildren, though sadly she did not get to fulfill that wish.
Lucy’s true passion in life was cooking delicious meals that her family was more than happy to help with when she had made “too much” or something she didn’t like herself.
Also, surviving is her cousin, Elaine Ancelo, to whom Lucy was a mentor, mother figure, confidant, and best friend; her daughters, Patricia Pelz and Barbara Wolcott; her grandchildren, Nicholas Bussiere, Casey Wolcott, and Ryan Wolcott; and her brother, Robert Braghelli.
Lucy’s husband, Anthony Pugliese; her parents Josephine and Dominic Braghelli; and her brother, Peter Braghelli, preceded her in death.
The funeral will be held 2 pm Friday February 9 at D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road Hamilton, NJ (located inside the Brenna-Cellini facility). Clergy from the area will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton.
Calling hours will be held Friday February 9 from 1 pm to 2 pm at the funeral home.
