Antonia “Lella” Mortillaro, 101, entered into God’s loving care Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong Trenton/Hamilton area resident.
Lella as she was affectionately known by her family and friends attended Rider College Business School. She was formerly employed at Fort Dix for 26 years prior to her retirement as a supervisor in 1972. During her tenure, Mrs. Mortillaro received two awards for her outstanding service.
She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Parish St. Joachim’s Church, belonging to its Senior Citizen Club and a member of the Sanctuary Guild. Lella was also a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital for over fourteen years and was chairman of St. Francis Library.
Daughter of the late Vincenzo and Giovannan (Ridolfi) DeSantis, sister of the late Anna, Gina Amedeo and James DeSantis, and wife of the late Rosario R. Mortillaro, she is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Michele Mortillaro; her niece, Eileen DeSantis; two nephews, Gary DeSantis and Dennis DeSantis, Esq. and wife Linda; two grandnieces,
Laura and Claudia; one grandnephew, Christopher and many cousins.
Private funeral services and entombment were held.
