Obituary of Joanne Ragazzo Fraytak

Joanne Ragazzo Fraytak, 68, of Hamilton passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Pennington, after a brief and courageous battle with brain cancer.  Born in Trenton, New Jersey, she resided in Hamilton.

After graduating from Trenton Central High School, she attended Trenton State College and graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Special Education.  Before retiring to become a stay-at-home mother, Joanne taught at Columbus School in Trenton and in the Lawrence Township school system.  As a full time mother and homemaker, she was active in the PTA and volunteering at her children’s schools.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, the Trenton Country Club, and the Societa Romana Femminile.  In addition to caring for her family and babysitting her grandchildren she enjoyed spending summers at her home in Ocean City, New Jersey.

Predeceased by her parents Joseph “Sharkey” Ragazzo and Mary Campana Ragazzo, Joanne is survived by her husband of 45 years, David Fraytak; her daughter, Dana and son-in-law, Stephen Troiano of Pennington; and her son, David and daughter-in-law, Amanda of Hamilton.  Her beloved grandchildren, Joseph and John Troiano; and Davis, Delaney and Amelia Fraytak.   Her brothers, Joseph Ragazzo (Tina) of San Francisco, CA and Eugene “Gene” Ragazzo of New Hope, PA; and sister-in-law Cathy Fraytak Fisher of Saratoga Springs, NY.  Her nieces, Natalie Ragazzo and Zoe Ragazzo and nephews, Benjamin (Denise) and Todd (Lacey) Fisher.  She also leaves behind cousins Patricia Guido (Joe) and Peter Inverso (JoAnn), numerous “Ragazzo" cousins, lifelong friend JoAnn Jaremback (John) and countless relatives and friends.    

The funeral will be held 10:00 am Friday, May 11, 2018 from D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, located in the Brenna Cellini facility.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 3816 E. State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.

Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 10, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Friday morning, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home.
