Obituary of Lena Mary Chiariello

Lena Mary Chiariello, 91, of Trenton, entered into God’s care Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Shorrock Gardens Care Center in Brick, NJ, with her daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, she resided in Trenton most of her life.

Lena was formerly employed as cafeteria worker at Trenton High where the students loved her and she loved them back, prior to her retirement in 1986. 

Predeceased by her parents, Sebastiano and Anna (Critti) Terrani, her two baby brothers, Lawrence and Lawrence, her sister, Yolanda Nesbitt, her husband, James V. Chiariello, her sister-in-law, Connie D’Errico and her nephew Paul Nesbitt, she is survived by her family and affectionately known to them as  mom, naun and nanny; surviving are  her children, Valerie T. Campbell and husband Ed of Islands Heights,  and James Chiariello and wife Roxanne of Cherry Hill; precious naun to her granddaughter, Marcie Lee Gatchalian and husband John of Pelham, NY and precious nanny to grandson, James Chiariello and wife Katrina of Philadelphia, PA; precious nanny Lee to great grandsons, Ethan and Dylan Gatchalian of Pelham, NY; step grandmother to Debbie Blackmon and husband Ken and Lauren Perrucci and husband Wayne and their children, Alyssa, Chloe, Nathaniel and Matthew; devoted aunt to Sonny D’Errico and wife Ann and Joey D’Errico and wife Rosann and Shirley Ann Johnson.

Lena was a generous and loving person who will be greatly missed.

Many thanks to the staff at Shorrock Gardens Care Center who showed her love everyday and to the Holisticare Hospice who treated her for the past few weeks.

A Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 pm Monday, June 11, 2018 at D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, located in the Brenna Cellini Facility.  (609 587-9050)

Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610.

Calling hours will be Monday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
