Obituary of Arthur Nicholas Longo
Arthur Nicholas Longo, 86, of Hamilton, entered into God's care Sunday, September 16, 2018 at his residence, with his loving family by his side.
Born in Ewing, he was a lifelong area resident, and a graduate of Trenton Central High School.
Mr. Longo proudly served his country in the United States Airforce during the Korean War.
He was formerly employed with the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation for 39 years prior to his retirement in 1991. Art, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends was also employed as a bartender at JoJo's Tavern in Hamilton for 34 years.
He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus belonging to the Trenton Council No. 355 and a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim's Church. Art was an avid golfer, he loved playing Catch 5 and enjoyed being with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Madeline (Scott) Longo, his sister and brothers-in-law, Connie and Albert De Pula, Albert Carmignani and Joseph Ficci, he is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lucy (Pesarini) Longo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Linda Longo and Gary and MaryAnne Longo; five adored grandchildren, Christa D'Amico and husband John, Michael Longo and fiancée Ashley Hamon, Vanessa Aaronson and husband Tim, Matthew Longo and wife Genna, and Jacqueline Del Giudice and husband Joseph; six cherished great-grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Drew, Carmine, Luigi and Amelia; one brother, Nick Longo and wife Marlene; two sisters, Antoinette Ficci and Janet Reininger and husband Dave; also survived by his sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Carol Carmignani, Elsie Pesarini, Caesar Pesarini and Kathie and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Our Lady of The Angels Parish-St. Joachim's Church, 20-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ 08611. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Private Cremation will follow, there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Our Lady of the Angels Parish, 21-23 Bayard Street, Trenton, NJ 08611.
