Obituary of Vito S. Colicchio

Vito S. Colicchio, 85, of Ewing, entered into God’s care Monday, April 22, 2019 at Capital Health System Hopewell with his loving family by his side.

Born and raised in Vallata, Italy, Mr. Colicchio along with family, immigrated to the United States in 1968 settling in Brooklyn, New York where he resided for nearly twenty years, prior to moving to Ewing, NJ in 1987.

He was formerly employed as a Plumber with Figliola Plumbing in Brooklyn prior to his retirement.

Vito is known to the local community through his many years at the family restaurant, Villa Rosa (41 Scotch Road Ewing). Vito and his wife Antonietta were the heart and soul of the establishment.

Vito was an avid hunter, an excellent handyman, he enjoyed making wine in October with his family, caring for his fig trees, but most of all, he loved being with his family. He was a hard-working devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Predeceased by his parents,  Carmine and Giuseppina (Gerolamo) Colicchio, and his siblings, he is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Antonietta (Fasano) Colicchio; three devoted daughters, Angela Aconi and husband Nicola, Josephine Agosta and Susan Colicchio; five grandchildren, Vittorio and wife Stephanie, Fabio and wife Sara, Gabriella and husband Jerry, Salvatore and Joseph; also survived by three siblings in Italy and many nieces and nephews here in the States and in Italy.  

The Viewing will be Thursday, April 25 from 5 to 8 pm at D’Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, located in the Brenna Cellini facility.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, April 26 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 West Upper Ferry Road, West Trenton, NJ 08628.

Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Trenton, NJ 08610
