Obituary of Maria Rotondo

Maria "Mimina" Rotondo, 89, of Hamilton, entered in God’s care Friday, April 22, 2022 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born in Sant'Angelo d'Alife, Italy, Maria along with her husband and family immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1957 where they resided for eleven years prior to moving to the United States in 1968, settling in the Chambersburg section of Trenton, New Jersey, where she resided for many years and more recently resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Hamilton. She was formerly employed with Circle F. Industries on Monmouth Street in Trenton until its closing, and later employed with Crecco’s Restaurant in Chambersburg, making her fresh homemade pasta recipes by hand. Maria was an excellent homemaker, she loved cooking for her family and friends, especially the traditional Sunday and holiday dinners. She was a loving devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, who will always be remembered for her warm gentle personality. Predeceased by her loving husband, Giovanni Rotondo, her parents, Roberto and Antonetta Ida (Pocino) Zulla, her brother and sister-in-law, Alfonso and Anna Zulla, her sister and two brothers-in-law, Anna and Luigi Mastroianni and Carlo Pocino, and her granddaughter-in-law Linda Pintye, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Angelo and Joanne Rotondo and Bruno and Kelley Rotondo; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Ida Rotondo-Pennacchi and Vincent and Maria and Michael Pintye; one brother and sister-in-law, Ugo and Dawn Zulla; five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Lina Pocino, Mickey and Carmen Calderone, Julia and Joseph Scarlata, Susan Buzzetta and Stella Lombardo; ten adored grandchildren, Angela, Amie (Nicholas), John, Dominic (Amanda), Michael, Christopher, Lauren, Michael, Anne-Marie (Michael) and Erica (Kenny); ten cherished great-grandchildren, Gianna, Avery, Luciano, Gianni, Serafina, Carmine, Nicholas, Anthony, Logan and Aiden; also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives. Calling hours will be Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 9:00 am to 10:15 am at Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim’s Church, 22-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ 08611, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610.
