Obituary of Vincent C. Costa, Sr.

Vincent C. “Chopper” Costa, Sr., 91, of Hamilton, entered into God’s care Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Capital Health System, Hopewell Township, with his loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Mr. Costa, proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed by US Steel Corporation, Fairless Hills, Pa., prior to his retirement, and also the owner of Good Times Tavern, along with his family, in the Chambersburg section of Trenton. “Chopper,” as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was an active parishioner of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Hamilton for over fifty years. He was a life member of American Legion Post 313 and a member of the Men of Harmony Choir. He was an avid Yankee and Giants fan, and enjoyed traveling with his late wife Rose. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and caring friend, who will be remembered for his pleasant personality. Predeceased by his loving wife, Rose Marie (Giancola Costa, his parents, Gregory and Sylvia (Morelli) Costa, his siblings, Santino Costa, Rose DiDonato and husband Frank, Louis P. Costa, Anthony E. “T.C.” Costa and Lorraine Giovannetti, and his adored grandson, Nicholas Costa, he is survived two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory J. and Hope Costa and Vincent & Kathy Costa, Jr.; his daughter and son-in-law, Donna Marie and Mark Gilbert; his cherished, grandchildren and their spouses, Danielle & Matthew Donovan, Anthony and Lauren Costa Ialacci, Kristi Costa, Lauren and Edward Durning, Kelsey and Marc Pietrow and Samantha Costa; seven great-grandchildren, Landon, Ava, Nikki, Keegan, Ella, Giovanna, EJ, and Benjamin; also survived by a special friend, Sam Plumeri, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The Funeral will be held 9:30 am Saturday, June 4, 2022 at D’Errico Funeral Chapel, LLC, 30 Yardville Allentown Road, Hamilton, NJ 08620, located in the Buklad-Merlino Facility. Mass of Christian will be celebrated 10:30 am Saturday at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610. Calling hours will be Friday, June, 3, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
