Obituary of Elsie (Genovario) Mimmo

Elsie (Genovario) Mimmo, 89, of Robbinsville, entered in God’s care Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved to Trenton as a child. Elsie was a graduate of Trenton Central High School, Mercer County College and Rider College. She was formerly employed as a Secretary for Michael Stroukoff of Stroukoff Aircraft Corporation in Ewing and more recently employed with Trenton Board of Education for 31 years as an Educator. She was a longtime active parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Joachim’s Church belonging to the Sanctuary Guild, she loved traveling to various different Countries, enjoyed reading, classical music and spending time at the beach. Elsie was devoted to her family, and her greatest love, was spending time with them. She will always be remembered for her caring personality and pleasant smile. Predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Louis G.G. Mimmo, her son David Mimmo, her parents Pasquale and Louise (Viscardi) Genovario and her brother Joseph Genovario, she is survived by her children, Michael Mimmo and Jeanne, Joseph Mimmo and wife Cindy and Karen Mimmo; six adored grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Michael, Mackenzie, Matthew and Madison; two cherished great-grandchildren Juniper and Rhoen; also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and her family in Italy. A Rite of Reception will be celebrated, 9:00 am Monday, August 15, 2022 at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Joachim’s Church, 22-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ 08611 follow by calling hours at the church from 9:15 am to 10:15 am, there will be no calling hours at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Our Lady of the Angels Parish, 21-23 Bayard Street, Trenton, NJ 08611.
