Obituary of Joseph Avanzato

Joseph Avanzato, 73 of Columbus, entered into God's Loving Care Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, with his loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, he resided in Chambersburg most of his life prior to moving to Columbus where he resided for the past ten years. Joe was formerly employed with Mercer County, Department of Transportation, prior to his retirement. in his earlier years, Joe played semi-pro baseball; he was an avid Yankee fan, he enjoyed playing cards, but most of all he enjoyed being with his family and friends. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Predeceased by his parents, Nicholas M. and Mae (Latini) Avanzato, he is survived by his loving devoted wife of 52 years, Rosandra D. (Marasco) Avanzato; his children, Joseph A. Avanzato, Sr. and wife Christine, Sandra (Sandy) Avanzato and Michael Avanzato and wife Renee; four grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph A. Jr., Nicki and Bryan; his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Frank DeMarco; two aunts, Alfreda Russo and Gina Oseredzuk; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Jennifer and Henry Rossmell and Jonell Marasco; a special cousin and best friend, Anne and James Eccles; also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral will be held 8:30 am Wednesday, November 26, 2014 from Chambers D'Errico and Correnti Funeral Home, 825 Chambers Street, Trenton, NJ 08611. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am on Wednesday, November 26 at Our Lady of The Angels-St. Joachim's Church, 20-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ 08611. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610 . Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
