Obituary of Joseph Thomann

Joseph Glenn Thomann, 63, of Hamilton, entered into God's loving care, Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton, with his loving family by his side. Born in Trenton, He was a lifelong Trenton/Hamilton resident Joe was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1975. He was formerly employed with G.M. Corp, Fisher Guide Division in Ewing, prior to his retirement in 2006, with thirty years of service. Joe was a civil war enthusiast. He was one of the founding members of the Camp Olden Civil War Round Table. He was an avid reader, a New York Yankee and Dallas Cowboy Fan, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his five beautiful grandchildren which he loved dearly. Predeceased by his parents, Francis and Anna (Mattes) Thomann, his brother-in-law, Raymond Matejik, and his loving daughter, Melissa Berkenkopf, he is survived by his devoted and loving wife of forty two years, Janet (Paone) Thomann; two daughters, Jennifer Thomann-Smith and husband Brian and Heather Militch and husband Joseph; his son-in-law, Mark Berkenkopf; his grandchildren, Sarah Rose Berkenkopf, Eddie, Ryann and Danielle Smith and Ethan Militch; one sister, Susan A Matejik; his brother, Francis M. Thomann; his nephew Raymond Scott Matejik; his sister-in-law, Donna Burrows and his Dog, Lucy. Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday, December 30 at D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, LLC, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619 Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum in Hamilton. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 30 from 8:30 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home
