Obituary of Helen Buhan

Helen Marie Buhan, 88, of Cape Coral, Florida, entered into God's Loving Care Monday, June 1, 2015 at home in Cape Coral. Born in Trenton, Helen was raised in Roebling, resided in Surf City from 1969 to 1984 prior to moving to Cape Coral. Helen was a graduate Florence High School and St Francis School of Nursing. She was formerly employed with St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin and more recently with Cape Coral Hospital in Florida until her retirement. Helen's nursing career extended over fifty years, with the last twenty years in Oncology. She was held with high esteem by her many colleagues throughout the years. Helen was a very outgoing person who lived life to its fullest. She enjoyed watching all sporting events, luncheons with her many friends, dancing, puttering in her garden, shopping with her daughters, Christmas in New York City, trips to the casino's, and spending her summers in Brigantine with her family. Predeceased by her parents, John F. and Hattie (Thomas) Kish, her sister Dolores Nemeth, her son-in-law, Manuel (Manny) Silva and her loving husband of 56 years, John Buhan, she is survived by her loving devoted children, Rosann D'Errico and husband Joseph A., John G. Buhan, David M. Buhan and Lynn Silva; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three nephews and her many friends and neighbors in Cape Coral especially Pat Sylvester, who loved Helen as a mother. The funeral will be held 8:30 am Tuesday, June 9, at D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619, located in the Brenna Cellini Facility. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am Tuesday at Our Lady of The Angels Parish-St. Joachim's Church, 20-56 Butler Street, Trenton, NJ 08611. Burial will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Calling hours will be held Monday, June 8, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral Home.
